Tears

Monday, March 2, 2009

This post comes from a stream of tears.  There are a few different blogs I like to check out one of them had a little story about a baby girl named Gracie.  I was in tears just a few sentences along and the somber music playing in the background.  Gracie was born March 20, 2008 with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome.  Her first surgery was at 4 days old and in February Gracie received a heart transplant.  Unfortunately Gracies heart transplant wasn’t successful and for the last few days she has been on life support.  The last post her mother made was yesterday evening after they told their other children that Gracie wasn’t going to live.  They were to go to the hospital today to say goodbye to their precious little girl.  Just 18 days short of her 1st birthday.  My prayers and words that I cannot even speak go out to her family.  If you would like to read more about her you can do so at Gracie’s Blog.

This is one of those stories that just makes you sit back and look at the big picture no matter what kind of relationship you have with your child(ren).  It makes you want to appreciate each moment big or small just a little bit more and just a little bit longer.  I know it makes me want to hug the little bug a little tighter and make her giggles stretch a little further.

God Bless You in Heaven little Gracie and Your Family and Friends here on Earth.

That’s always tough to read, isn’t it? I didn’t go to the site. I’ll be struggling enough this month myself. 🙂
